Description
Implant Prosthodontics by Wolfram Bucking & Ralf Suckert
Templus fugit, as they say in Latin, and indeed, time flies. Dental Implantology, only recently the ultima ratio of some edentulous geriatric patients, has long since ceased to be the last resort in the comprehensive choice of dental treatment modalities.
On the contrary: it is a tremendous enrichment of the therapeutic options of prosthetic dentistry. Whereas the range of indications was mainly limited to the edentulous mandible just a few years ago, dental implants today are increasingly being used to replace single teeth, restore anterior and posterior edentulous ridge segments and serve as abutment elements for full mouth reconstructions in the maxilla and mandible.
